Open Office 3.1 Impress Slide Show Wizard Start Impress - Select Empty presentation, Check Don't Show this Wizard again Presentation Background - Select screen and preview Presentataion Type - Select default Viewing Toolbars To show the Text Formating of the toolbar - from the View dropdown menus - Select Toolbars - Check Text Formatting Show the Drawing, Presentation, Standard, and Text Formatting. Line and Filling is optional. Slide Background On the drop down Toolbar select Format - Page - On Page setup Box select the Background Tab, Fill select Color - select black - OK Page Settings background set for all pages? Select YES OR on the NORMAL outline right click inside of the slide - Select slde - Select page Adding Slides From the toolbar contine to click on +Slide icon to add more slides. From the Insert dropdown menu select +Slide icon to add more slides. Adding Pictures From the Insert dropdown toolbar menu - Picture - From file Stretch and Move picture with the usual mouse functions. Adding Text From the bottom toolbar select the capital T - Place mouse on slide - Hold left mouse key and drag to the right. release mouse button - start typing where the text cursor appears. Double click above the text for the text box to appear around the text. Move the box with drag and drop. Changing Text Use mouse to highlight written text - right click mouse - Graphic Style: Default box appears. Selec the tabs Font to change to different font style and size. Select Font Effect to change color. Saving SlideShow From the File drop down menu - Select Save As - In the Save As Box save the slideshow as a ODF presentation (.odp). Also save it as a Microsoft PowerPoint 97/2000/XP (.ppt) file. This allows the slideshow to be used with PowerPoint. NOTES: If a Video file is inserted in the slide show, other than an animated .GIF, the Video file must alos be copied to when the slide show is copied to a different PC.
